Luna’s Story
Luna was born in April 10, 2020 a beautiful happy baby girl, she was diagnosed with Rett syndrome January 6, 2023, shortly after her first regression.
All though Rett syndrome has taken her voice, the ability to use her hands functionally and dystonia continues to effect her mobility Luna continues to fight very hard in multiple therapies to prove Rett syndrome wrong every single day!
Lunas has started using an AAC Device that tracks her eyes and speaks out loud for her. She’s mastered switch adapted button toys, we even learned how to make them ourselves and started sending them to her friends all over the world! She uses eazyhold silicone grips to do crafts, play music and help bake. She loves adaptable playgrounds and wants to swing higher than any other kid all with the biggest smile and happy chirps. Luna has even gained the ability to walk independently and with minimal assistance again.
In spite of everything Rett syndrome is and how hard this disease is to live with Luna is thriving. She is happy, she has tons of friends and she is living a very full life extremely loved. She loves trolls, especially queen poppy. She loves animals, music, nature and anything outside. Lu is also a natural fish, absolutely loves the water! She loves the pool, beach and adaptive swim classes!
