For Love & Buttercup

"My name is Emily Bhatnagar and I am 18 years old.
Growing up, I was very shy and turned to books for company. My dad has always been my best friend. Unfortunately, he was diagnosed with stage four thyroid cancer in 2019 and nearly lost his battle to cancer on my 16th birthday. By a miracle, he survived (and is now cancer-free!).
To give back, I soon began a book drive called “For Love & Buttercup” for children with cancer dedicated to my father. It’s been a little over a year since I began, and with all the support I’ve received, I’ve so far been able to Spread Good by donating over 10,000 books to children with cancer! It is important to me to Spread Good to help others find hope. People can donate through the Amazon Wishlist in my Instagram bio, and I am immensely grateful for all the generosity my small project has been shown!
I am very grateful to have been recognized by The Washington Post, Good Morning America, ABC, CBS, NBC Nightly, Southern Living Magazine, an (upcoming!) article with TIME and BUST Magazine, The President’s Volunteer Service Award, Rare Beauty by Selena Gomez, Lady Gaga’s Born This Way Foundation, and a few other celebrities!
I afford most books by using tips I earn from working at my parents’ small bread shop, but a large portion of them also come from generous donations through my Amazon Wish List :) "
